WTF???

I received the KnitBits newsletter from Berrocco the other day:

Are they kidding me? Does anybody think this "vest" is nice? I think it tops (no pun intented) anything in my "Just Because You Can Knit It" post of a few months back.

I know that the more patterns a yarn company can put out there, the more yarn they will sell, the more money they'll make, the more yarns they can produce. Blah, blah, blah, blah. I get it. I'm in marketing.

But this thing? What were they thinking?

Dear Berrocco:
I've got a few cats with a couple hairballs they'd like to add to this "design." But I don't think anyone would notice...

Yep. That's raising the bar on ugly.

I actually have made three of these and am rotating them through my wardrobe. Gypsy is the new preppy...

Just kidding!

Hell, I can't even knit anything beyond your basic scarf and hat combo. And when I move on to bigger and better things, they certainly won't be as butt ugly as that is!

Is anyone surprised that that pattern is "FREE"?! ;)

Blecch. Your razor poncho wasn't even that ugly. And the colors were much better. Yuck-a-doo.

I'm totally making that! It'g going to be my next project!

heh

Actually, I love Berocco yarns, I do. But I'm not a vest girl, not at all. Not even if the vest is that purty :)

Some Grandma somewhere will be making that for some poor grandchild. I sure hope it isn't my grandma making it for me..eeek!

yes, that is hideous. but, at the risk of offending, and, really, i don't mean to.....not all "old ladies" and "grandmas" have terrible taste. it's just not right to say "it looks like something an old lady would make/wear" as a put-down for a pattern. after all, some of us old ladies rock! i'm just sayin'....

I actually like it but minus the crochet bunting (what else should I call it?). And in a solid color. So I do like it very much with a few tweaks.....but I loved to layer over tees in the fall.

That is truly the most atrocious thing I have ever seen.

My eyes hurt.
