Cardigan, Oh, Cardigan

Back in March when I posted about taking on my first sweater project, a seamless sweater, I got a comment that said: "Once you knit a seamless sweater, you'll never want to knit any other kind."

I must admit, I did get kind of hooked. (Sorry, bad pun...)

I saw a pattern for this seamless cardigan and had to make it.

I bought the pattern here.

My progress so far:

All that's left to do are the sleeves and the neckline. Knitting is super slow, what with size 7 needles, but I'm hoping to be done in about a week.

Because I have yet another seamless sweater project waiting to be cast on. A v-neck.

Woman, it's BEAUTIMUS! I love it. And am very envious. I have yet to make it beyond the scarf stage. And there are only so many scarves a person can make to own or foist off on friends and family. Really ... must learn hat. Or socks. Or kitty pi. OR ... oh ... pretty much ANYTHING else ... lol.

So kudos to you! It's awesome!

My goodness...that is amazing. I can't even knit a sock. I despair of ever doing a sweater. But I would SO do one just like that!

BTW - I recommend hats as a next step. A 16" circular needle and some nice yarn? You'll have a roll-brimmed hat in no time. But if I had any attention span at all, I would love to make a kitty pi too! I am still working on the same checkerboard scarf I started over a month ago...yeah, I am a distractable knitter.

Stacy you rock! This sweater is so adorable...
I've graduated from scarves to baby blankets but I'm not feeling brave enough to start knitting real live articles of clothing, yet.

Thanks for all your supportive comments. And trust me -- this sweater is not that complicated. No seams. You knit from the neck down. I did alter the pattern a bit, as suggested during my seamless sweater class, so if anyone takes this on, email me and I'll tell you how I changed it.
And to answer specifically:

m. thom --
believe me, I have many hat projects "waiting their turn" in the yarn stash drawer! But since I'm so "have to wear it as soon as I'm done with it," those will get picked up as it gets colder. You know, July in San Francisco!

lynn --
you are correct. the pattern is not knit in the round because it's open in the front. it is knit on circular needles, though.

katya --
store? what store? you have a yarn store? please say that you're near my zip code. Bay Area? Oh please oh please.
I'm using Cascade 220 yarn

Quattro color 4933. But you can use anything that gets you 5 stitches to the inch. The pattern called for size 6 needles, but I got 5 to the inch using 7s.
